Best known for her village belle roles, Gracy Singh is a passionate Bharatanatyam and Odissi dancer. She leads her own dance troupe and performs extensively across the globe. For Gracy, dance is not a profession but a spiritual mission, viewing the stage as a space for divine connection rather than just entertainment.
She trained under Deepak Mazumdar for Bharatanatyam and has also learned Manipuri from Guru Latasana. This diverse training allows her to bring a unique blend of grace and rhythmic complexity to her stage productions.
Gracy began dancing as a child and continued her practice even while working in the high-pressure film industry. She often choreographs her own recitals, which blend classical techniques with spiritual themes. She is a strict Vegetarian due to her deep association with the Brahma Kumaris. She views vegetarianism as essential for spiritual purity, mental clarity, and maintaining a "Sattvic" (pure) lifestyle conducive to meditation and the rigors of dance.
She shot to fame with the Oscar-nominated Lagaan and the blockbuster Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.. Later, she transitioned to television, notably playing the lead in Santoshi Maa, a role that aligned with her personal beliefs. Gracy has remained unmarried, dedicating her life to her art, her dance troupe, and her spiritual pursuits, often performing at charitable and spiritual events to promote peace through art.
