Aditi Rao Hydari

Bharatanatyam Dancer, Actress & Singer

"Going back to something I've done since I was five, feels as natural as breathing... Flowing water, flowing movement and gender fluidity - the philosophy of Ardhanareeshwara."

A graceful exponent of Bharatanatyam, Aditi Rao Hydari began her journey in classical dance at the tender age of five. Her training is rooted in the traditional Kalakshetra style, known for its angular precision, linear geometry, and deep spiritual connection. This rigorous foundation is evident in her cinematic performances, where she maintains a distinct regal poise and a fluidity that bridges the gap between traditional art and modern storytelling.

She trained under the legendary Leela Samson, a Padma Shri awardee and celebrated Bharatanatyam dancer. Aditi considers her guru a pivotal figure in her life, often paying tribute to her influence on both her dance and her personal philosophy of "less is more." This minimalist aesthetic has become a hallmark of Aditi’s artistic identity.”

Born into a lineage of nobility connected to the Wanaparthy and Hyderabad royal families, Aditi’s mother, Vidya Rao, is a renowned Thumri singer. This immersed Aditi in the arts from childhood, treating music and dance as a shared language. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Sringaram (2007), where she played a devadasi, a role that required expert classical dance skills and remains a favorite among dance aficionados for its technical accuracy.

Aditi has established herself as a pan-Indian star with acclaimed performances in Kaatru Veliyidai, Padmaavat, and Heeramandi. While she was previously married to actor Satyadeep Mishra, she found love again with actor Siddharth. The couple tied the knot in a soulful, traditional ceremony at a 400-year-old temple in Wanaparthy in 2024, perfectly blending her love for heritage, art, and her personal journey.
